Applicant:

University of Cagliari (UNICA) is one of the largest enterprises in the Region of Sardinia, thanks to its international policy, studies and its numerous agreements with prestigious universities in Europe and around the world. UNICA participates to the project with 2 departments: Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Architecture (DICAAR), the work areas of research are the following: land engineering;  structural, infrastructural and geomantic  engineering; geo engineering and environmental ; architecture. Department of Social Science and Institutions (DSSI)  is a multidisciplinary department. The work areas of research are the following: sociology, economics, statistics, social psychology, law, international studies, political science.

Project partners:

PP1 Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME). The association is an organization with a potential membership of 500 Chambers of Commerce, and other associated entities, from the 23 countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

ASCAME was created with the primary goal of furthering economic cooperation throughout the Mediterranean region, showing a strategic vision of North-South cooperation and integration.  The Association plays a significant role in the field of international cooperation between Chambers of Commerce: it provides support and advice to Chamber of Commerce members, encourages contacts between them and promotes their respective initiatives, such as staff exchange programmes between Chambers of Commerce members, training programmes, forums, conventions and fairs.

PP2 Promotional Services Centre for enterprises, Special Agency of the Cagliari Chamber of Commerce (CSPI). Its objective is to promote and support the development of businesses in the South of Sardinia, in all economic sectors, through a strategy of integration and penetration into national and international markets. The areas of intervention are concerns the promotion of economic information, innovation and training, as well as internationalization, which provides businesses with advice and guidance for the development of markets abroad. The Service Center expands its business planning initiatives in European competitions, national and regional authorities.

PP3 Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA) (Network/Federation in the sector of business and other services). CEEBA members are business associations and representatives of the enlarged European Union, the EU2. Regularly CEEBA delegations from Egypt are participating in conferences, workshops and roundtables in the EU. It executes visibility activities and support to EuroMed and ENP processes and supports capacity building of economic operators (EU-Egypt Bilateral Chambers). CEEBA coordinates the activities of the European chambers and business associations in Egypt and acts also on behalf of non-existent bilateral chambers for EU member state.

PP4 Industrial Research Institute (IRI) is a Lebanese Institution for: laboratory testing and analysis; studies and research; certification covering systems, products and persons. IRI is a non- profit institution, linked to the Ministry of Industry with administrative and financial autonomy. The Institute hosts several projects related to the environmental issues and green technology.

Royal Scientific SocietyPP5 The Royal Scientific Society (RSS) is a Research Institute. RSS mission is to  build and strengthen scientific and engineering research in the areas of greatest strategic value to Jordan’s long-term competitiveness and development. The institute performs studies, research, and experimental projects in the follow field of work: photovoltaic wind energy rational use of energy solar thermal solar desalination oil shale geothermal biogas.

PP6 Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tunis (CCI Tunis) is a Public Administration in the sector of business and other services such as trade and tourism, which counts among its missions: providing the public authorities and policy makers with information, opinions and suggestions of SME’s (1100 members); assisting companies in the international trade operations and contribute to develop partnership opportunities in the areas of industry, commerce, crafts and small business through managing partnership meetings, businessmen's missions abroad, exhibitions, participate in international economic events; providing the Tunisian companies with the useful economic information and assistance in order to develop their business mainly on the international scale; organizing cycles and seminars of training.

PP7 Autonomous Region of Sardinia (RAS) - Industry Department is a Public Administration.

Industry department -Energy Service- competencies are: defining strategies and policies in energy field; planning and programming in energy field; coordinating local authorities; drafting the Regional Energy Plan; programming of renewable energy sector; efficiency and energy saving; structural funds management.
